A quick look at this week’s JTBC Founders Cup:

Stacy Lewis took over the top spot in the Rolex Rankings with a victory here last year. Now No. 3, Lewis is looking for her first victory of 2014. She is paired with good friend Brittany Lincicome in the first two rounds.
Nos. 1-3 are in the field this week (No. 1 Inbee Park, No.2 Suzann Pettersen and Lewis) as are the four winners thus far this season (Jessica Korda, Karrie Webb, Anna Nordqvist and Paula Creamer).
No. 1 battle: Pettersen must win this week and Park finish no better that a tie for second with three others in order for Pettersen to become No. 1 for the first time in her career. Park has been ranked first for 49 consecutive weeks.
A South Korean golfer hasn’t won on the LPGA since Amy Yang last October at the LPGA KEB-HanaBank Championship in South Korea, a stretch of eight tournaments, while Americans have won three of the last six.
All of the top 10 players and 18 of the top 20 in the Rolex Rankings are in the field this week. Only No. 13 Ha Na Jang and No. 18 Jiyai Shin aren’t playing.
The next two weeks (JTBC Founders Cup and Kia Classic) will have a bearing on last-minute invitations to the Kraft Nabisco Championship and the finalization of rosters and seeding for the eight countries participating in the International Crown later this summer.
Another Lewis is contending for the lead in Scoring Average. Amelia Lewis is second with a 68.875 average through two starts, just behind leader Inbee Park (69.5).
